Air Filters from Filpro
A wide range of applications rely on industrial air filters to remove contaminants from the air and improve overall air quality. At Filpro, we manufacture a variety of top-quality replacement air filters as well as maintain an inventory of OEM and major brand name filters. Our filters offer superior service life and performance, providing optimum protection for air handling equipment such as engines, vacuum systems, turbines, blowers, and compressors.
Types of Filters
Depending on the application, there are multiple types of industrial air filters available, including:
HEPA Air Filters for HVAC
High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters contain up to 99.97% of contaminants and particles of 0.3 microns or larger. When choosing a HEPA filter for HVAC applications, selecting one with the right minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) rating is crucial.
The air filter MERV rating gauges the filter’s ability to trap large particles from 0.3 to 10 microns (µm). This rating helps compare filter performance and results from testing methods developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The higher the air filter MERV rating, the more effective the filter is at containing certain particle types.
UV Light Filters
A UV light filter uses short-wave ultraviolet light to remove bacteria and viruses from the air. A nearly invisible bulb emits the light, and these systems typically need a new bulb every year. These filters help improve air quality in many settings, particularly in the medical industry. They’re capable of removing mold spores, allergens, aerosols, and other types of potentially dangerous microorganisms. However, they aren’t as effective at removing dirt, dust, or dander as HEPA filters.
Also known as spun glass filters, fiberglass air filters offer an inexpensive means of protecting units from damage that large particles could cause. They can trap a certain degree of dust, dirt, and allergens, but they won’t be able to contain small particles.
What makes pleated filters unique is their accordion-shaped center that normally consists of cotton and polyester. This design enables them to trap dander, dust, dirt, and other types of pollutants. The pleated design offers a larger surface area compared to non-pleated filters, allowing for the removal of a larger number of particles.
Their efficiency makes them especially popular for applications in the automotive industry. Specifically, vehicles often use them in their HVAC systems to improve interior air quality.
Provide Maximum Protection
Filpro’s air filters are unsurpassed in performance and filter life; they provide maximum protection for compressors, blowers, turbines, vacuum systems, engines and all other air handling equipment.
Designed For Durability
Filpro air filters are designed to meet or surpass the most stringent requirements for long life, superior air flow, high particle retention and highly effective seals.
The standard element frames are sturdily constructed of carbon steel; stainless steel and galvanized steel are also available. Both faces of the radial fin are supported by woven wire, and the unit cores are perforated steel to retain strength for the life of the filter and minimize seal failure.
Wide Choice of Filter Medias
Filpro offers many different filter medias that remove contaminates as small as 0.3 microns up to 200 microns and provide exceptional performance over wide temperature ranges. Filpro filter medias include:
- 80 / 20
- Fire Retardant
- Spun Bond
- Others to meet specific applications
Three Filter Styles to Meet Your Specific Application
Sewn End Style has a rugged perforated steel core which is attached to pleated woven wire. The filter media covers the frame and end gaskets.
Molded End Style also has a sturdy perforated steel core. The filter media is pleated between two layers of woven wire. The core and pleated media is then sealed at both ends with a vinyl rubber seal.
Metal End Cap Style is similar in design to the Molded End Style except the core and pleated media is covered at both ends with a metal end cap.
